It's south of Bozeman, on the Idaho border. About 2.5 hrs. It's on the map of kite spots. I still haven't been there, as I'm a bit of a newb to the area myself. If not there, I might run up to Spurs. Give me a call 860-671-9416. Julian

Looked like you guys found
Looked like you guys found some wind in Island Park. I happened to be driving by on friday at about 2:00 pm - wanted to join you guys but couldn't convince my wife I'd only be an hour or so (she knows better). Very jealous! Maybe I'll get lucky and hit it on the way back home from Colorado. Any way, hope the wind continued through the weekend for you guys!

So Jerome and I were standing
So Jerome and I were standing on Raynold's pass, totally skunked, when we received a text saying the weather station was indicating 11mph winds. I didn't see a weather station there. Does anyone know where said weather station actually is? In other news, Island park was dead calm and Ennis Lake was calm and thawing (open water along some shores). Hope this info helps out. If anyone had a good weekend elsewhere, I'd love to hear about it. Keep on trying, Julian

Georgetown is still rockin.
Georgetown is still rockin. We had saturday and sunday conditions which were slightly light but awesome snow and wind . Watching the ice fishers we noticed the augers were bottoming out getting to the water. 3feet plus and the snow was about 6-12 inches still. The weather station that they are refering to is northbound to ennis about 2-5 miles from the idaho border. It is a wind tunnel at the station and the snow cover is marginal. gotta get a bit closer to henry for the snow. The station looks like a cell tower with spinners and cameras. Snow and wind will be returning this week the forcast isn't stellar but better then the indian summer we have been experiencing lately. |

I think there's some sort of conspiracy afoot against us weekend warriors. All week there's decent wind then suddenly on Fri's high pressure builds & everything calms down till Mon. Hoping for wind up on Spur Park in the Little Belts but.........
