Cale and I went out on a search for a new kiting spot today and we ended up at a place called Priest Pass which is right between Mullan Pass and Macdonald Pass. Check out the video I made from the day. Priest Pass Montana, www.montanakitesports.com from Montana Kite Sports on Vimeo.

Thanks Bob. You know It's bigger than that area by the Mac Pass radio tower and less gusty, and two awesome gliding hills. The snow holds way better too. Priest Pass is a great spot. touch the monkey

Wind Speed?
I was skiing Great Divide on Saturday. How did you find wind? It was calm, cold, and foggy where we were.

Saturday it started to blow
Saturday it started to blow an east thermal on Macdonald pass which is not that good for kiting. It has something to do with the pressure difference on either side of the divide. We were there on Friday and usually it blows West or NW on high pressure days or day when the wind is at a high elevation. It just blows in this area. There is an area behind the ski area that I have been wanting to get to, I've hiked up there only to find it wind-scoured. This year might be different. There's a ton of snow along the divide. You can see back of the ski area from the top of Mullan, It's not that far away.

Joel that's really an impressive video. Great soundtrack, great transitions, and nicely wrapped up with the bitchin' monkey at the end. Awesome.
And a sweet looking spot. Looks kinda like Mac pass right above the little parking spot. No fences though.
Nice glides and kiteloops too Cale. I'm jealous.
