Beginner lesson FAQ

What does a beginner lesson include?

A beginner class usually lasts for two days and all the kiting equipment needed is included. We will take you to one of our many kiting locations. There the student will learn the basics of the wind window, such the difference between the neutral zones and the power zones. We will then teach the student how to preform a pre-flight check of all their equipment and how to properly use the safety system. The student will then be taught to safely launch and land the kite, along with the other skills necessary to fly the kite. After the initial skills of kite handling are learned the student will then be taught how to use these skills in conjunction with a snowboard or skis. We realize that everyone has different skills and that is why the lesson plan is formulated so each student can learn at their own pace.

What will the student need to bring?

The student will need enough clothes for to endure a day out in the cold. Layered clothing works well because once the fun begins you will warm up and need to shed some clothes. They will also need gloves, head gear, and sunglasses or goggles for those bright winter days. We do offer limited snowboard or ski rental but if you have your own bring them because it is easier to learn on what you have already been using. It also helps to bring liquids and eat a big breakfast or to pack a lunch. For some reason a good day of kiting seems to invoke a big appetite.

What does a beginner lesson cost ?

A full two day lesson costs $300. Group discounts are available and there are only three students per instructor allowed. Any lesson that is cut short due to weather related conditions will be pro-rated.
