Kitesurf

Eureka Reservoir

|

Description

Nice sandy almost flat shoreline in the SE end of reservoir. Also nice shallow sandy approach to the reservoir for kitesurfing. Excellent winds typically around the choteau area. I'm not sure how busy the res. gets in summer & it gets fairly small by end of summer as its an irrigation reservoir but definitely good for land & water.

Directions

Go north of Choteau & take the turn towards Teton Pass Ski area. Its only ~3 miles past that turn & right along the highway.

Lake Elwell/Tiber

Deadmans Reservior

Description

Out in the middle of nowhere is Deadman's reservior. A rather large source of water for kitesurfing. There is not a tree for 50 miles and the wind can be awesome. Many boaters choose not to play out there due to the wind-chop. The Harlotown airport (about 30 miles away) is the best source for wind in the area. There is a large sandy beach on the east side of the lake that is a good setup/launch area. The wind usually comes from the west. Overall a great kite spot
